My Story as a Mozillian

My name is Nyima Darboe and I attend Marina International school. Before I joined the Mozilla club of HackathonGirls I had Bs and Cs in my computer lessons but my experience with the club has exposed me to see that ICT is really fun and interesting and now I get As in my computer lessons in school. Its also in a very friendly environment. I learnt all all about how to operate the computer and using Microsoft applications. I also learnt how to make research on the internet in a responsible way. The most important to me was that I learnt how to stay safe on the internet especially on social media, meaning I am not suppose to talk to everyone I meet online also on how to create a strong password and to know who is tracking what I do online. My advice to more people out there especially girls is to join the club as its really an interesting club and I had to get all my younger ones and cousins involved. The teachers are also very nice and are like sisters, and mothers as they mentor us on how to develop on leadership skills likewise building confidence in us. I can’t wait for the next session to start as the activities has helped me a lot come a long way.

Thanks to the Mozilla club of HackathonGirls for creating such an awesome club for girls.
